Di says - I found that the movie seemed to start half way through the story and then filled in the blanks as the movie went on, which kept us guessing for a while what was actually happening. That being said, I have never read the book so it may also be written like this and knowing how accurate the BBC was with Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility I image that is how it was meant to be. The story was full of romantic anticipation, which I love, a classic misunderstanding of relationships, and all the greatness of the time it was written (language, costumes, architecture etc.) On a side note I was grateful that it was only an hour and a half so that I can watch it more often than PandP and SandS which both take quite a long time commitment.
I give Persuasion 9.25 out of 10. Oh yeah, and the sister was very awkward and sorta crazy which I don't really know what to say about that except it was good for a laugh and a strange glance around the room at the other viewers and the dad was Giles from Buffy which I know you will appreciate Laura, haha.
I did love that Giles was in this movie! He was such a jerk in this one, too. I always want him to realize how great Anne is and stop being mean to her.
ReplyDeleteI love this movie, too! It's a great fast one when you need a Jane Austen fix!
