The Words

If you are looking for a movie that is all wrapped up in a nice little package at the end, this is not the movie for you.  If you want beautiful cinematography, a fascination story, an amazing sound track, and an all around captivating experience, then I highly recommend The Words.
It is unlike any other movie I have ever seen.  From start to finish I just couldn't wait to see and feel what was going to happen next.  The writing and acting was so well done that it brought you right into their world.
There are a few "bad" words, and I read that the Blu-ray version has more than the PG-13 DVD copy.
I hope that I didn't build it up too much and now you will be disappointed, although I am not sure that could happen with this one unless you have no appreciation for artistic films.
Like I mentioned before, the ending leaves you guessing, but it made for some interesting discussion with the group I watched it with.

I give The Words 9.5 out of 10.  Like I told my husband "It had me at Hello".  Yes I am that big of a nerd.

Jane Eyre (2011)

Di says -  I have read the book and have watched at least 5 different versions in movie form and this one ranked somewhere in the middle.  I felt that Mia Wasikowska made a good Jane but Michael Fassbender as Mr. Rochester wasn't my favourite (he just isn't Timothy Dalton).  They took a new approach by starting half way through and then filling you in with flash backs which worked well for me anyways since I know the story so well.  They cut the movie time down to just over 2 hours so I felt like they missed out on some rather important scenes (some of which are in the deleted scenes).  I also didn't think that they built the relationship between Jane and Rochester up enough that he would propose to her (sorry if that gave too much away, who am I kidding, only Laura and Krista read this and I am sure you both know that, haha).  All in all it was an okay version but Laura it will make you crazy I am sure, it did for Jenn and I.
I give Jane Eyre (2011) 7 out of 10.

Larry Crowne

Di says - This review is not fair to all the other reviews because I LOVE Tom Hanks.  That being said Larry Crowne really brought back the good old Tom Hanks that I have grown to love so much.  It was funny, it was awkward, it was romantic, it was AWESOME!!!  I love to watch the transformation of Tom's character throughout the film.  He really starts off super dorky and clueless but he really comes into his own by the end (except for the wallet chain).  Tom does such a good job making you feel for the character and really bringing Larry to life.  Julia Roberts is fantastically bitter but also has a bit of a transformation. Larry Crowne was a joy to watch (and I watched it 3 times so far, haha)
I give Larry Crowne 9.75 out of 10 (should have been 11.5 but that is only based on the fact that Tom Hanks is in it).

The A-Team

Di says - I thought The A-Team was really well done (although I can't say I was ever a huge A-Team watcher I have seen quite a few episode, thanks Laura).  I think they did a great job picking the actors to play such well known characters.  The story line was good, the filming was great, the action scenes, while pretty impossible, where really exciting to watch.  I give The A-Team 8.5 out of 10.  "I love it when a plan comes together."

Just Go With It

Di says- If you enjoy a good Adam Sandler film, like I do, I think you will love Just Go With It.  It has all the classic awesomeness (that's right awesomeness) of Adam Sandler with a touch of romance.  The chemistry between him and Jennifer Aniston is great on all levels.  It is a great date night movie with a ton of laughs and the content was pretty clean, although I wouldn't recommend watching with your grandma.  I give Just Go With It 9 out of 10.

The Kings Speech

Di says- Wow!!!  It's no wonder why this movie has been nominated for so many awards, it is brilliant.  I enjoyed ever minute of it, even the sort of inappropriate scene with a ton of swearing (it was totally necessary) .  This film was visually pleasing with lots of great camera angles and shooting locations and the soundtrack was wonderful.  The characters were well played (I especially loved that P&P's Mr.Colins and Elizabeth Bennet were in it).  I give The Kings Speech 9.75 out of 10.

No Strings Attached

Di says - I guess I should have guessed by the name and R rating (14A in Canada) that this movie was going to take things too far.  Between everyone being either high or drunk for most of the movie or talking about drugs or saying the F word (which I know how juvinile that sounds) and that's not mentioning the awkward sex scene that they don't cut away from so you are left watching the entire thing (from shoulders up anyways).  There was also a very uncomfortable lesbian scene.   The movies only saving grace was the last 20 mins or so when they realize that, hey, you just can't have sex without developing some sort of deeper connection, who would have thought it.  I give No Strings Attached 4 out of 10 for the first  hour and 28 mins or so and 8 out of 10 for the last 20 mins, haha.
